Over 30 Years of Clinical Mastery & Collaborative Care
At the heart of my practice is the belief that true healing occurs within the sanctuary of a dedicated partnership. I have been a licensed acupuncturist for over 30 years, and I believe the most vital component of any treatment is the healing relationship between practitioner and patient. This bond—built on deep listening, mutual trust, and presence—creates the essential space where transformation begins.
Dory Ellen Fish
An Integrative Philosophy
I view my role as an integrative practitioner rather than an alternative one. I believe that the best patient outcomes are achieved when we bridge the wisdom of Asian Medicine with the advancements of Western Medicine. I maintain many valued relationships with a variety of Western doctors and welcome the opportunity to collaborate with your medical team. I deeply value these partnerships and believe that a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach provides the highest standard of care.
Global Training & Clinical Foundation
The Acupuncture Licensing Boards maintain stringent continuing education requirements. I have spent over three decades exceeding these standards, studying with revered teachers from Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, the UK, Vietnam, and the US. These years have been spent mastering diverse acupuncture techniques, philosophies of healing, and various styles of Asian bodywork to offer patients a truly customized experience.
The Five Element Foundation
The earliest foundation of my practice is rooted firmly in Five Element Acupuncture. This tradition emphasizes the vital cohesion of Body, Mind, and Spirit, ensuring that we address the root of an individual’s constitution rather than just treating isolated symptoms.
Specialized Clinical Expertise
While my practice is broad, I have developed deep expertise in several complex areas of health:
Oncology & Supportive Care: Providing integrative support informed by advanced cancer studies at Memorial Sloan Kettering and MD Anderson. I work in tandem with oncologists to manage side effects and support systemic health. Read more here about my oncology services.
Reproductive & Sexual Health: Specializing in fertility support – often coordinating care with OB-GYNs and fertility specialists – as well as support balancing hormones, menstrual cycle, menopause, libido, and prostate health. Listen to Dory Ellen’s podcast on acupuncture for sexual health here.
LGTBQ+ Care: Providing a supportive and affirmative environment and whole-body complementary care for physical, hormonal and mental health challenges specific to all genders and identities.
Physical Recovery: Focusing on orthopedic pain management and pre- and post-operative care to accelerate recovery.
Chronic Illness: Managing internal medicine concerns and complex, long-term health challenges.
Mental & Emotional Wellness: Supporting overall mental clarity and stress reduction as well as tailored support for addiction recovery, eating disorders, mood stability.
Educator, Speaker, and Mentor
My commitment to medicine extends beyond the treatment room. I serve as a clinical mentor to the next generation of acupuncturists and am an active voice in the health community as a public speaker and podcast guest. Through these roles, I advocate for a healthcare model that honors both modern science and ancient wisdom.

Suzanne is thrilled to be working with Dory Ellen Fish Acupuncture. Her passion for acupuncture comes through in her patient rapport, and treatment strategies. Working in a wide range of settings, Suzanne has witnessed the ability of acupuncture to complement western medicine, enhancing the healing process.
Suzanne Bowers
Suzanne is a 2014 graduate of the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Glenside, PA. Suzanne was first introduced to acupuncture as a means of dealing with extreme stress and insomnia while working in a demanding corporate environment. Not only did acupuncture provide a positive, non- invasive reduction in symptoms, she also loved how it focused on treating the whole person. While undergoing fertility treatment, Suzanne once again turned to acupuncture which, in turn, provided the impetus to make a career change and study Chinese medicine, focusing her energy on fertility and women’s health. Other areas of interest include pain management, stress/anxiety reduction, and digestive disorders.
She is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is also enrolled in a certification program for the study of Chinese Herbal medicine. Adjunctive therapies include: gua sha, cupping, tui na (Chinese massage), and traditional nutritional therapy.
Suzanne is a mom to two boys and an adorable mini-goldendoodle. She is involved with the community and school, and enjoys cooking, hiking and traveling in free time.

Megan has continued her studies through travel and lineage-based learning, including training in Daoist medicine, tai chi, and inner alchemy in China’s Wudang Mountains. These traditions inform and enrich her clinical practice.
Outside the clinic, Megan enjoys cooking, meditation, continued study, time in nature, and visits to her local coffee shop. She approaches her work as a calling, supporting healing as a holistic and ongoing journey.
